Southern Austria, June 2022

GoBugsGo had acquired another piece of land – 5,2 hectars/ 13 acres. Before we turned it into a Non-Human Zone we tore down a run down house from the year 1811 (we were ordered by officials to remove it).

Together we turned it into an amazing film-performance in order to create awareness that Austria has no unsealing laws, which means – what was once built up/concreted/asphalted/sealed will remain sealed forever – 10,000s of hectares all over Austria as nobody is responsible for removal. Those areas are dead. No life. No insects. Laws to be implemented should ensure that they become meadows and forests again. GoBugsGo is taking action to demand such a law.

The piece happened in collaboration with the action-author Georg Pruscha and some of our wonderful Buggies (members of GoBugsGo).
